Since it's incorporation in 1973 the BAeA
has published a regular "news letter" to keep it's membership informed
as to current events and competition matters. Initially this was simply
an A4 page or two, but in recent years the Aerobatic News
Review has developed into an increasingly authoritative coffee-table
publication with colour cover, advertising and a wide range of
aerobatically inclined comment and event reporting. From number 152 in
February 2003 these have all been available here on the Association's website in
PDF format, in the style it is sent to the printers for final production.
The world however is a changeable
place, not least from the advent of the internet and the enormous
audience that the BAeA website can now reach. In a
style unimaginable even a couple of years ago, the ability to
make available written and graphic material not only to all
BAeA members but to anyone with a browser has altered forever the
importance of the printed page. From January 2005 therefore the
Aerobatic News Review will hit member's doormats each year through just
three publications at roughly 4 monthly intervals, providing a permanent
record of the UK aerobatic scene and key foreign events.
The annual
Contest Information Booklet sent to all members on joining will continue
as the physical bearer of matters directly related to entering and
flying at BAeA aerobatic competitions, whilst the BAeA Rules remain only
in electronic format. You'll find the latter two publications as
PDF down-loads from the BAeA Publications
page on this website. |
