Chris Noon
Chris is 57 years old, married with
three daughters, and lives in Sussex. Coming from a flying family, born and raised in
Nairobi, he went solo on 1958 progessing to charter work in Kenya, Tanganyika and Uganda
before joining East African Airways in 1964. In 1977 he joined Cathay pacific in Hong Kong
until retirement in 1996, then rejoining as a freighter captain.
In his career, Chris has flown over 20,500
hours in types such as DC3, Comet4, Super VC10, Tristar and various Boeing airliners, but
still derives enourmous pleasure from flying light aircraft. Chris's early career as a
flying bushman in Africa, provided many interesting experiences, sometimes related at a
contest when waiting for the clouds to clear. He started flying serious Aerobatics
in 1974, and has displayed at many Canadian, American and Hong Kong airshows. His first
appearance for Britian was in 1997 at the Advanced World Aerobatic Championships in
Kansas. He currently shares a YAK55m based at White Waltham, and is also a supplier of the
Nanchang CJ6a aircraft.
