Kester Scrope

Kester Scrope (38 years old) is married to Marianne. They have two children: Thomas and Constance.

Kester competed in the British Advanced Team for several years (EAC98, AWAC99, AWAC2000 and AWAC 2002). The 2002 season saw him win medals in the Advanced World Aerobatic Championships held in Slovenia (individual silver in the Free programme and team bronze). Since 2002 he has competed at Unlimited level in the 2004 European Championships and 2007 World Championships.

Kester gained his pilots licence in 1994, having flown in the University Air Squadron on Bulldogs. His aerobatics began as self-taught in a Tipsy Nipper. Since then he has flown a multitude of types. These include an assortment of Pitts both single and two-seaters, Laser 230, De Havilland Chipmunk, Su29, Yak 52, Yak11, Yak 50, L-29 jet, Piper Cub, the Cap 222 and Extra300S. He has accumulated a total of 700 flying hours. Latterly in 2008 he imported an Edge50 from the USA; test flying commenced in the autumn and the aeroplane, G-EDGY, should be flying from Christmas 2009 in time for the 2010 season.

Kester lives on a farm in Hertfordshire. During the winter months he also enjoys shooting, stalking, fishing, real tennis, tennis and cooking.
