The Dan Smith Memorial Trophy 2000
Run through two days of fairly dismal weather, the BAeA's one and only
One-Design competition finally managed to get one shortened six-figure
sequence completed by the excellent field before mid-Sunday afternoon and
quickly called it a day. Fledgling author Mike Woollard stole the gold
medal from leading Sports pilot Glyn Yeates, with Jon Bastin and Roger Graham
(yes - him!) the next two vying for the Dan Smith. An altogether difficult
weekend ably stirred along by CD Ray Stoward and Chief Judge Dick Happs,
the London Gliding Club's restaurant as usual doing a roaring trade.
