After some 11th hour trauma resolving
the now well-known Avgas crisis, the joint BAeA & Classic Aircraft and
Aerobatic Club of Ireland enjoyed a splendid weekend's aviating at
Waterford regional airport. With nearly twenty pilots chasing a
range of single and mixed level gongs, the competition was keen
throughout. Locals Richard Pinnock, Mike Edgworth, David Bruton and
Eddie Goggins mopped up Beginners, Standard and Advanced between them,
whilst John Vize managed to restore some balance for the Englanders at
Intermediate (actually they were all Brits at this level, so no surprises
there!). Paul van Lonkhuyzen ran the ground force, Gareth
Roberts and others commanded the Bench, Sheila Fagan drove the PC and
Peter Tawse dispensed the precious Avgas.
