Well - Saturday wasn't too auspicious .... but Sunday April 1st made up for all that whilst known No.1 was run "split" into two halves and the unknown was completed as intended.

With just eight eager pilots ready to roll, an unlikely overcast eventually gave us just under 3,000ft and enough to tackle the 2001 Sports Known-1 in the aforementioned two bites. The (some say) irrepressible Guy Westgate headed Chris Cain, whilst true sportsman Alex Yeates just kept Paul Conran at bay. In the unknown however John Gilbert's second placing and Alex's close third settled the final order, the Dan Smith Memorial Trophy now gracing young Yeate's sideboard for 2001. With almost all complete the return of the cloud unfortunately prevented Malcolm Hodgeson from starting the final flight, and that was that.
