What can one say - we so nearly had a great day, then in the short time between Gary Ferriman putting G-EWIZ back on the ground and big JP zapping in with the Extra it was all over.... wisps of cloud appearing from the south suddenly became almost solid 1,200ft (carefully measured over the hill) clag, and figure-3 was as far as he got. Until that time it went really quite well - the five beginners lined up behind Rob Howarth's Yak with varying degrees of success, and the intermediate chaps and chap'ess put in some sterling work from which Pete Shaw emerged top of the pops with Alex Smee and Patrick Caruth almost together a couple of jots behind.

So - once again, BAeA some and Compton Abbas environment some. One day we will all go to the ball, Cinders! Ben Ellis was Commander of the Day, yours truly drove a fine bunch of judges including Graham Hill, Bob Oliver, Alan Cassidy, Kester Scrope and Simon O'Neill, lots of good people scribed for us, and Jen B did the sums and the admin.
