The good news at the 09.00 briefing was
that the wind was straight down the A axis and it was expected to
decrease during the day. Periodic re-briefings were held and eventually
the Unlimited programme was flown about 17.00. Although the wind had
died down, hopes for Intermediate and Sports were dashed by the onset of
rain.An early start was called
for on Sunday morning and the Sports and Intermediate figures were
completed just before the wind conditions became untenable (30 knots at
3000' and surface 20 knots gusting to 29).
Full marks to the contestants for a
good competition despite the weather.
