Dave Farley will be hosting a social chat and presentation on Tuesday 16th March at 19.00. Here's what he has to say about the evening event:

We have all been flying less than we’d have liked for the past year. If you are anything like me you had plans to compete, and to carry on getting better at our addictive sport.

I have been feeling the lack of late, and, along with a few other people, wondered if we could at least try to keep our addiction fed a little more with some aerobatics related chat. So this is an attempt to try something a bit different. Come along, bring your own wine, beer, soft-drinks and snacks, and join us for a conversation. We will structure this a bit, so that it doesn’t devolve into Zoom chaos. Here is the plan.

I will describe a few of the things that I learned flying, for the first time, as a member of a British Team at the Intermediate World Aerobatic Championship (WIAC) in 2019. It was a fantastic adventure and a massive learning experience and the highlight of my flying so far, but I learned a lot from technical things, to team-dynamics, to more philosophical things about what I know think of as the nature of our sport.

I will do my best to explain some of these ideas, as I perceived them and let you know a bit about flying as part of a British Team.

After that we will have a Q&A/Discussion.

The plan is to take about 1 hr, but if we are enjoying ourselves we are allowed to take longer. You are very welcome to attend, if this prompts any questions, bring them along. If not, come anyway and hang out with your flying friends.
