The BAeA glider ‘Get into Aeros’ event at Lasham is designed to introduce juniors (26 and under) to aerobatics in a safe and disciplined way. This year we have 22 applicants from all over the country. They can expect two dual instructional flights and plenty of talks/videos/briefings if the weather is unsuitable for flying. Our hosts for this event, Lasham Gliding Society, has been most generous in their support, allowing us a significant discount. Launches to 4000’ cost £40 instead of the usual £50 and Lasham have agreed to waive other incidental costs such as camping and soaring charges for their gliders.
Last year's event proved to be a success with one of our ab initio students progressing to flying with the National Team in this year's World Championships where he was good enough to achieve 10th in the world in the Free Known program.
