Here are the summary notes and outcomes of the Rule Change Proposals from the recent CIVA plenary in Paris - Le Bourget. The plenary was attended by Steve Todd (Delegate) and Neil Oakley (Alternate) on behalf of British Aerobatics. Big thanks to Neil for the detailed note taking and summarising at the meeting.

This year marks a significant change in the management of CIVA. The CIVA management team is now led by an Unlimited power pilot, Tamás Ábrányi, from Hungary. Tamas was also the Contest Director for the recent WIAC/WAAC contest in Sarmellek, Hungary. Plenary thanked Nick Buckenham for his 10 years service as President.

The first task of the new Bureau is to set strategy to address the two key issues which were evident - the decline in Unlimited Power participation and the ever increasing cost of organising CIVA championships which has been inhibiting bids for future events. This will flow down into the Committees and Working Groups to ensure that all avenues are explored and our sport receives the boost it desperately needs.

This was the first time that our Glider Aerobatics members have had direct representation at the CIVA plenary and was well received by the other delegates. We will aim to make this a permanent feature of our CIVA interaction.
