Lifetime Honorary Membership Awarded to Charles Baker
British Aerobatics is delighted to announce that Charles Baker has been awarded lifetime honorary membership in recognition of his exceptional and sustained contribution to British glider aerobatics.
Based at Lasham, Charles has for many years been a highly respected gliding aerobatics instructor, training and mentoring pilots across all levels of the sport. His instruction has consistently emphasised technical precision, disciplined energy management and sound judgement — qualities that have influenced generations of UK aerobatic pilots.
Charles has also served as Company Secretary and Director of British Aerobatics, contributing significantly to the governance and development of the association. In addition, he has given extensive voluntary service as a competition judge and flight evaluator, helping maintain the integrity, consistency and high standards of British aerobatic competitions.
In 2016, Charles was nominated by British Aerobatics for the Royal Aero Club Bronze Medal in recognition of his service to the sport.
This honorary membership reflects our sincere gratitude for his years of dedication, professionalism and quiet leadership within the aerobatics community.
